One day I found myself listening to some kid online talking about how you can make money by giving your products and services away.This was the strangest marketing strategy I’d ever heard of.
I’m like, “how the he** am I going to make any money by giving stuff away?”
I ended up offering the best product I had in my line as a free sample.
A paradigm shift is one of the truly amazing phenomenon’s in life.
A Paradigm Shift as defined by Webster’s is “an important change that happens when the usual way of thinking about or doing something is replaced by a new and different way.”
I mean, it’s really kind of spooky when you’ve thought about something in a particular way all of your life and find out that you were totally mistaken.
Even more jarring is that fact that your previous thought on the subject makes you blind to any new reality.
I’ve had several paradigm shifts in my lifetime and although I know it’s possible about everything I believe, it’s nevertheless earth shaking each time it happens.
So, I tried it. I learned to build this thing called a sales funnel. You start off by creating a web page that offers something of value. In my case, I offered a free product sample, not just any product; I offered the one product in my line I knew everybody wanted to try. Truthfully, I said I offered a sample, but my sample was actually a full size. All they had to do is give me their email address, pay the shipping and tell me where to ship it!
It worked, BIG TIME! I got massive social media recognition, super sales and gained over 4,000 emails in a short period of time.
I ran Facebook ads to my target audience and included a $37.00 and a $89.00 upsell after they agreed to take the initial offer. A percentage of them bought both upsells.
I spent over $10,000 in Facebook ads, and the upsells paid the bill!
If that wasn’t enough, I developed an email list that I continued to use to distribute valuable information and run monthly sales.
My life was changed forever. Now I truly understand what value is all about.
