How to Get a Sinus Infection
Do you want to know how to get a sinus infection?
Drink some milk or eat some ice cream. It may not happen all at once, but if you keep eating it, eventually your sinus infection will arrive, and it won’t take more than a week, week and a half tops!
At least, that’s how I’d do it.
For some reason, I can’t consume dairy products (and I love them.)
For sinus sufferers, we know the deal; the aching head, the agony of trying to blow your nose every 30 seconds, the lifelike yellow globes that are hard enough to bounce as they exit your nose. If you’re at this stage you obviously have a high pain tolerance and if you’re thinking to yourself, I can beat this, do yourself a favor, don’t wait, go to the doctor as soon as possible, they will give you medicine that will reverse the pain within hours.
I don’t deal with the drama anymore enough is enough. Sinus episodes like this have stalked me for years, but I finally developed a system.
I don’t regularly consume dairy products. I read somewhere that 65% of people with African ancestry cannot digest dairy products. Now my family ancestry includes a solid footprint on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean but I definitely have African ancestry.
If you look at the recommended food charts, diary is at the top of the food group pyramid. Can someone at the national food group pickers union help a brother out?

According to blackdoctors.org, over 75% of people with African ancestry can’t digest dairy. I’m sure sinus infections develop for other reasons but here is what I would do to avoid one.
How To Avoid a Sinus Infection
First, I make sure I don’t eat anything that will set off a sinus infection. For me, that would be milk or cheese. I may be able to get away with a piece of cheesecake or some ice cream in small amounts every once in a while but it can’t be a part of my everyday diet.
Now, if by chance I accidentally do harm to myself, and I feel the early stages of the sinus infection, there are a couple of things I can do, If I catch it in time, because, sometimes you can beat it without a doctor.
The Neti Pot
I discovered the neti pot years ago. It’s a little pot (looks like a little teapot) that’s filled with a salt solution and some warm water.
You hold your head over a sink and pour this salt solution through one nostril and out the other.
The salt acts as a natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory; sometimes you can reverse the infection before you have to go to the doctor.
My first experience with the Neti pot was pleasant but sometimes messy because I had to manually squeeze the water through the pot and forced water pressure through my nostrils.
The Navage Neti Pot
But, then I discovered a neti pot called Navage, it’s battery-powered and has a suction feature that forces the saltwater solution through your nostrils and sinus cavities.
It took a few tries before I become comfortable using the Navage Neti Pot, but once I got the hang of it, it was great!
There is a slight problem though. Although the Navage neti pot works great under optimal circumstances. It will not work, however, if your nostrils are locked shut.
If your nostrils are totally clogged I recommend Afrin; just a couple of squirts in each nostril, wait a few minutes for the nostril to open, and then hit your sinus cavities with some healing saltwater.
If your nostrils are so tight, that you can’t even find room to breathe a little Afrin, try to eat something hot, that will usually open your nostrils just enough to get a good sniff of the Afrin. Once, your successful in opening a passage in both nostrils, it’s time for the Navage.
I also used Navage Neti Pot for maintenance. The brand also has its own salt pods with a premade mixture that’s just right, no burning.
Also, try to salt pods with the eucalyptus it’s my favorite formula.
The Navage Neti Pot is a super tool for sinus health, honestly, even after blowing your nose you’ll be amazed at what you’ll find swimming around in a beautiful blue Navage tank. Life is good without the hassle of a sinus infection.
